What is a group goal?

A group goal allows multiple Beeminder users to commit to the same Beeminder goal. It will appear on the dashboards of all group members, all group members can add data, and if it derails, all group members will be charged.

To add someone to a group goal, you need their username. You can then go to the settings of the goal, and add them in by putting their username in the "Groupie's username" box and pressing "Add groupie".

Screenshot of the groupies option in settings. Text lists any existing groupies, any pending groupies, and then has the option to add new groupies with the following text: " Adding Groupies Adding a groupie means they're equally responsible for the goal's successes and derailments. They'll see the goal in their dashboard and will have full write access to all the goal's data. When the goal derails, each groupie will be charged the full pledge amount. Because this is a hefty responsibility, the groupie won't be added until they confirm. Adding them here sends them a confirmation email explaining all this. Once they click "confirm", they'll be added."

Once you've done that, they first need to confirm, and then it'll appear on their dashboard and you'll both be on the hook!
